DAMAMAX was the first company in Jordan to offer Fiber To The Building (FTTB) services. Optical Fiber has incredibly low loss coupled with extremely high capacity, making it a unique transmission medium. Distance is not an inherent limitation as optical signals can travel 70 – 80 km before they need to be amplified.
Coupled with Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology, the key emerging access technology in FTTB applications provides a scalable and cost-effective architecture to satisfy the growing bandwidth requirements generated by advanced applications such as high-definition television (HDTV) or cloud computing.
Widely deployed in all geographical regions, the GPON standard provides a performance boost in terms of both the total bandwidth and bandwidth efficiency with 2.488 Gbps and 1.244 Gbps of downstream and upstream bandwidth, respectively.
To set up an FTTB connection, DAMAMAX lays out fiber optic cables from its Data Center to a shared area in your building such as the basement, and then distributes the internet connection to your offices and other building tenants thereby reducing costs while allowing internet speeds from up to 200 Mbps.
